Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the IPAP (Insurance Product Aggregator Platform) operated by Resolut / IPAP ("IPAP", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing, registering on, or using IPAP through USSD, web, mobile, agent-assisted, or any other channel, you ("Customer", "User", or "Policyholder") agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Nature of IPAP

1.1 IPAP is a digital insurance aggregation and enablement platform.

1.2 IPAP is not an insurance company, underwriter, or risk bearer.

1.3 All insurance policies made available through IPAP are:

  • Underwritten by licensed insurance companies; and
  • Distributed in accordance with applicable insurance laws and regulations.

1.4 IPAP facilitates:

  • Product discovery and onboarding;
  • Premium collection and financing arrangements;
  • Verification of policies (including MID integration where applicable);
  • Claims notification and orchestration.

2. Eligibility & Use of the Platform

2.1 You confirm that all information provided to IPAP is accurate, complete, and truthful.

2.2 You are responsible for ensuring that you understand the insurance product selected, including coverage limits, exclusions, and obligations.

2.3 IPAP may refuse or suspend access where false, misleading, or fraudulent information is detected.

3. Insurance Products & Underwriters

3.1 Insurance products displayed on IPAP are provided by third-party insurers.

3.2 Product pricing, coverage, underwriting acceptance, and claims decisions are determined solely by the insurer.

3.3 IPAP does not guarantee acceptance, renewal, or claims payment.

4. Premium Payments & Collection

4.1 Premiums may be paid:

  • In full; or
  • Through approved instalment or premium financing arrangements.

4.2 Payment methods may include:

  • Mobile Money (MoMo);
  • Cards;
  • Other approved digital payment channels.

4.3 Failure of payment may result in:

  • Suspension or cancellation of cover; and
  • Enforcement of financing remedies where applicable.

5. Premium Financing (Globafin)

5.1 Where premium financing is offered, such financing is provided by Globafin Limited ("Globafin"), a third-party financial partner.

5.2 Premium financing allows the Customer to pay insurance premiums in instalments subject to agreed repayment terms.

5.3 By selecting a financed option, the Customer:

  • Enters into a separate financing obligation with Globafin; and
  • Authorizes Globafin to enforce remedies in the event of default.

6. Loss Payee Designation

6.1 Where a policy is financed or supported by Globafin:

  • Globafin is designated as Loss Payee on the policy to the extent of its financial interest.

6.2 This designation does not transfer ownership of the policy but establishes Globafin's secured interest.

7. Default & Right to Instruct Cancellation

7.1 A default occurs where the Customer fails to meet any payment or repayment obligation owed to Globafin.

7.2 Upon default, the Customer irrevocably authorizes Globafin to:

  • Instruct the underwriting insurer to cancel the policy, subject to applicable law and policy terms; and
  • Notify IPAP and the insurer of such default.

7.3 IPAP shall not be liable for any consequences arising from cancellation due to customer default.

8. Effect of Cancellation & Premium Refund

8.1 Upon cancellation:

  • The insurer shall calculate premium earned on a time-on-risk basis.

8.2 Any unearned premium shall be refunded in accordance with insurer rules and applicable law.

8.3 Where Globafin has financed the premium:

  • Refunds may be paid directly to Globafin or applied first toward settling outstanding obligations.

8.4 Any remaining balance, if any, shall be paid to the Customer.

9. Policy Verification (MID & Digital Records)

9.1 Motor policies facilitated through IPAP may be recorded on the Motor Insurance Database (MID) where required.

9.2 Verification status is dependent on:

  • Insurer confirmation;
  • Regulatory systems; and
  • Successful data transmission.

9.3 IPAP does not control enforcement decisions by authorities.

10. Claims Facilitation

10.1 IPAP may assist with:

  • Claims notification;
  • Documentation routing;
  • Digital tracking.

10.2 Claims approval, settlement amount, and timing remain the responsibility of the insurer.

10.3 Any fast-track or MoMo-based payouts are subject to:

  • Insurer approval;
  • Policy terms; and
  • Defined claim rules.

11. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Maintain valid payment arrangements;
  • Provide accurate information;
  • Comply with policy conditions;
  • Promptly report claims honestly.

Fraud or misrepresentation may result in denial of claims and termination of access.

12. Platform Availability & Limitations

12.1 IPAP operates across multiple channels including USSD, web, mobile, and agent-assisted flows.

12.2 Availability may be affected by:

  • Network outages;
  • Third-party system downtime;
  • Regulatory or operational constraints.

13. Data Protection & Consent

13.1 You consent to IPAP sharing necessary data with:

  • Insurers;
  • Globafin;
  • Payment service providers;
  • Regulators where required by law.

13.2 Data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

14. Limitation of Liability

14.1 IPAP is not liable for:

  • Insurer underwriting decisions;
  • Claims denials;
  • Enforcement actions by authorities;
  • Losses arising from customer default.

14.2 IPAP's role is facilitative and administrative only.

15. Termination

15.1 IPAP may suspend or terminate access for:

  • Breach of these Terms;
  • Fraud;
  • Regulatory instruction.

15.2 Termination does not extinguish outstanding payment obligations.

16. Amendments

IPAP may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Ghanaian courts.
